Production Team Lead Openings - 2nd Shift
Under direct supervision of the Production Manager, plan, organize and supervise the day-to-day operations and activity in the assigned Department of the organization. The production Departments included in this classification are: Ironing, DryFold, Counting/soil, Washroom, and Route Set Up.
Support the mission of the plant which is: On-time delivery of a quality product at a reasonable cost.
Responsible for the assigned Department’s efficient processing and accurate assembly of products for routes while meeting all daily requirements in accordance with the defined methods, standards, quality specifications and production targets.
Keep the assigned Department neat and well organized with no accumulated backlogs or bottlenecks. Focus efforts on efficiency, safety, quality, continuous improvement, organization and minimizing employee turnover.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and direct all functions and staff of the assigned Department. Train and educate employees on schedules, production standards, quality standards, and health and safety procedures. Enforce all company policies, procedures, safety and security regulations fairly and consistently. Perform personnel evaluations, hiring, training, cross-training and discipline of staff.
Coordinate and assign daily work schedules to guarantee the efficient flow of products within the assigned Department. Ensure all schedules are met and guarantee all product is ready and on time for deliveries. Do not allow product to back-up in your assigned Department.
Monitor work flow in your assigned Department on an ongoing basis to assure that the production standards are being met in each area, and that quality levels are consistently at high levels. Perform routine inspections.
Maintain high levels of productivity by using manpower efficiently and meeting established production standards. Recommend changes to standards in areas where needed. Constantly seek to improve productivity and quality by recommending improvements in work conditions and methods.
Maintain good housekeeping practices, organization and order within your assigned Department.
Ensure your assigned Department’s equipment and machinery is started and ready to operate at the beginning of the scheduled shift and is shut down at the end of the scheduled shift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be required to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. occasionally, stand and walk frequently throughout the day, continuous use of hands and arms for handling, reaching and moving product, some reaching above shoulder height and some bending.
Work is performed in a fast paced production environment with normal exposure to noise, above average temperature changes, and other normal production floor conditions.
